Auto Maintenance FAQs

For the cars that do not have automatic fog lights, the fog light switch turns the fog lights on and off. It’s like any other electrical switch and can have an internal failure that may render it inoperable. A broken fog light switch leaves the fog lights inoperable, even if the bulbs are fine.

Main causes of weak airflow may be because

  • There’s a possibility of mold accumulating in the evaporator core from the moisture that occurs during the cooling process. When this happens, the air has trouble reaching the air vents.
  • A hose has come loose. It usually happens with the blower hose that supplies air to the blower unit.
  • The ventilation fan has gone bad. If the fan is not blowing, air doesn’t flow very well.
  • Blower hose seals or evaporator core case seals can open up and reduce the airflow. AC ventilation systems are sensitive and should remain sealed. Ifit’s opened, the whole system gets compromised.

A leak in the cooling system – It is one of the main reasons for engine overheating. If there’s a leak in the radiator, water pump, hoses, or head gasket, your engine won’t cool properly. You should get your car professionally checked.

Issues with the coolant – You may face issues with your coolant even if there’s no leak in the system. If you’ve put a wrong coolant in your car, or if the coolant-to-water ratio is off, your engine may have problems staying cool.

Blocked Hose – If there’s no leak and the coolant is installed correctly; you would want to check your coolant hose. Sometimes dirt can get into your coolant and block the flow of fluid through your hose. You are advised to flush the system and refill your coolant tank once again.

Problems with the radiator – Another very common cause of engine overheating is a problem with your radiator. Leaks or clogs, with the radiator fan, means that heat can’t properly escape your vehicle, which may cause the temperature to rise. DayToDayCarCare will be able to diagnose what’s wrong with your radiator and what needs to be done to correct the problem.

The main reason for engine noise could be
